its a really nice nightstand, u have a lot a skill. i do wonder if u will find a problem with small things, crumbs & the like, getting around ur "hidden" button. also, u could keep the top of that awesome nightstand solid and just invest in a lamp that clips to ur head board, so u can reach it.... really cool nightstand tho, I couldn't do that kind of work when I was ur age. can't image what u will be able to accomplish with those tools and another 10-20 years experience. thanks for sharing

Nice table. I got a smart bulb.. i have it so it automatically turns red in the evening. And i can turn it off from my phone... I have my phone set so the screen is extra dim and has a night filter... I'm still a terrible sleeper but it's better? Also my room looks atmospheric in an axe murder is on the loose sort of way! As a carpenter and woodworker of 30 years this was so frustrating and hard to watch… but also proves that even with premium tools ie: festool you can still suck and just be a monkey F-ing a football 🤣 finished product wasn’t too bad though good job bud!

While the resurgence of traditional skills is admirable, it also reflects a broader trend among the younger generation-a tendency to embrace superficial reasons without delving deeper into the underlying purpose or significance. This focus on surface-level gratification often leads to actions that, though well-intentioned, lack the depth and thoughtfulness needed to create lasting impact.

I solved this problem by just getting a WiFi plug I shut off with a quick tap of a widget on my phone screen so I don’t have to unlock my phone and risk getting distracted, but your solution is much cuter 😂

24:41 FFS get a hot air gun! They can be acquired for cheap and prevent soot (carbon is conductive!) and overheating. Or even accidentally burning the insulation. YOu have so many tools already, a $20-$50 heat gun won't put you in the poorhouse.

18:29 I hope with that you learned to leave the backing on to the moment you want to glue it. The trick is to leave most of the backing on, align the piece, and stick a small contact area down. At that time corrections are still possible. If it fits press it down do make the glue really stick. Maybe even temporarily clamp it. Then reach for the backing and slowly peel it back while pressing the material to glue it. Works for all large (and "large") scale glued sheets. From screensavers foils to vinyl wraps and anything in between.

6:46 While you can build it like that, you should look into joints. Wood joining exists for a reason. The furniture lasts longer, but it is more work. Both reasons modern furniture doesn't have it. (If it doesn't last as long, you can sell more, and if it is less work your markup is higher.)
